Keanu Reeves has undergone a DNA paternity test and has been cleared of the paternity claim made by a Canadian woman earlier in May this year. The alleged children are all in their mid-twenties and the woman claims the two were childhood friends.
Reeves attorney is glad to have received the results of the DNA paternity test which mean that the ‘Matrix’ sensation will not have to pay the $150,000 per month in alimony payments in retroact from 1998 or the claims of several millions in spousal support made by the woman. The Canadian woman claimed Reeves had fathered at least one of her sons and put increasing pressure on him to take a paternity DNA test. Reeves however, denies even having ever met the woman.
The results of a DNA paternity test are incontrovertible. Russian model Angela Ermakova had no qualms in demanding a legal paternity DNA test from tennis player Boris Becker whose child she conceived after a very short romance in a broom cupboard in a London restaurant. The test confirmed Becker’s paternity and he was forced to take on his paternal duties.
Luciana Morad, the Brazilian supermodel, claimed to have born Mick Jagger’s child and after a paternity DNA test confirmed Jagger was the father, he was forced to pay exorbitant sums in maintenance costs till the child reaches the age of 21.
Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter has also been a celebrity hot case, especially since the father in this case wanted to recognize the child as his own and thus, himself demanded a paternity DNA test. X-spice girl and X- girlfriend to Eddie Murphy Mel B has also won her battle of paternity with X-boyfriend using DNA testing. Murphy challenged his X saying that he would only acknowledge the child as his own after having scientific proof that the child was his. A DNA paternity test proved that Murphy was the father.
Clearly, a DNA paternity test has become the simplest and most widely accepted means of determining paternity. Results are highly accurate both in exclusion and inclusion of paternity. Normally, paternity rate is excluded by 100% whilst possibility of paternity is 99.99%; this should clear any doubts in most scenarios as the aforementioned cases show.
